Customer Service
See the contact
page for our email, address and telephone details.
Delivery
All goods are delivered to your
home by Royal Mail (inside the United Kingdom). Certain heavier orders may
need to be delivered by Courier. Please note that arranging courier services
may add a day or two to the estimated shipping times.
Estimated shipping times vary
by product, and are shown against each product on the website. These shipping
times are only estimates and we cannot be held responsible for deliveries
that exceed these estimates. If there is a problem obtaining stock of any
item, you will be notified and given the option to cancel.
If the shipping agent is unable
to deliver your package because you are not available to sign for your goods,
or because you have supplied inaccurate address information, we reserve the
right to ask for you to pay for the package to be re-delivered.
International shipments will be
sent by a method of our choice, depending on the weight and value of the shipment.
This will either by airmail or courier. International deliveries can take
anything from 5 days to 4 weeks to arrive, depending on the destination and
the customs and delivery services in that country. If any additional import
taxes are deemed to be payable when the goods arrive in the destination country,
the buyer will be responsible for paying them.
Returned
Goods
If the goods that you ordered
are faulty, please contact us as soon as possible to arrange a replacement
or refund. In the case of refunds, we will refund you within 30 days of your
instructions, provided that the goods have been returned safely to us without
further damage.
In the case of returned items
which are not faulty, your statutory rights apply. However, please see the
paragraph entitled "Christian Conscience", below. We will refund
you but may need to subtract from the refund any postage/shipping charges
that we have incurred in sending the item(s) to you. It is also your responsibility
to arrange and pay for return postage. Please note that orders sent to businesses
or organisations are on a "firm sale" basis, meaning that we are
not obliged to accept returns unless by agreement.
We are not obliged to accept returned
goods from International customers (i.e. those outside of the U.K.), except
by agreement, unless the goods are faulty.
We regret
that we are unable to accept returned CDs, DVDs, videos or software where
the shrink wrap has been removed or the item already installed, eBooks, or
any item that is not returned in "as new" condition.
The
Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000
(1)
Contracts for the purchase of goods by UK Customers
not acting in the course of a business and made by telephone, mail order,
or via our website are, with the exception of certain excepted contracts,
subject to The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 (the
Regulations).
(2)
If the Regulations apply, Customers may cancel goods purchased from Christian
Bits by sending a written or emailed notice of cancellation to us (see our
contact page
for details).
(3)
The notice of cancellation must be delivered within 7 working days of the
day after date of delivery of the goods.
(4)
The Customer will be responsible for the cost of returning the goods to us
in as-new condition if he or she exercises this right of cancellation under
the Regulations.
(5) Where refunds are applicable,
we will refund you card within 30 days of receipt of the returned goods, provided
that the goods have been returned safely to us without further damage.
In accordance
with The Regulations, we regret that we are unable to accept returned CDs,
DVDs, videos or software where the shrink wrap has been removed or the item
already installed, eBooks, or any item that is not returned in "as new"
condition.
Christian
Conscience
We
would ask customers to consider their Christian conscience in their use of
the above rights - we are a small business and many of the products listed
on our website have to be ordered for you specially from our suppliers, most
of whom will not accept returned goods. This therefore can mean that we get
left with items that might possibly never be sold to another customer. If
you can avoid returning items simply because you do not like them, it helps
us to stay in business.
Errors
Although
we make every effort to keep the data on our website up-to-date and accurate,
we do reserve the right to cancel and refund any order if we discover that
the prices or shipping costs quoted on our website were incorrect at the time
of the order being placed. Under these circumstances, we will contact you
as soon as possible, to advise you that your order has been cancelled, so
that you have the option to place a new order using the correct prices/shipping
costs if you want to.
Incorrect Address Details
Please take
care when typing your name and address details into our ordering system. If
you make a mistake when entering your address, then the goods will probably
not arrive. Under these circumstances, we will not be able to refund you or
replace the lost goods, as we have sent them exactly as instructed by you.
Cancellation Of Orders
Please refer to the paragraph
above entitled The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000.
It will help us enormously if you cancel your order with 8 hours of placing
it, as we may be able to avoid ordering your products from our suppliers.
Please also see the paragraph entitled "Christian Conscience" above.
We regret
that we are unable to cancel eBook orders as these are submitted for processing
immediately.
Payment Methods
We accept a number of different
credit and debit cards for payment - see the bottom of our home page for the
list. Cheques, postal orders or cash are only accepted by prior agreement.
All card payments are made through a secure server held by Worldpay, one of
the world's largest credit card payment companies. We also accepts payments
made by Paypal.
Prices
All prices shown are in UK Sterling
and do not include shipping/packaging charges. Estimated prices in other currencies
may be shown, but these are based on exchange rates that may have changed
since the last update, and are therefore intended as a guide only. VAT is
charged on UK or EU orders where appropriate. Any shipping and VAT will be
shown at the checkout screen, before you finally confirm your order. There
is also an opportunity to view your order total in various local currencies
when you get to the credit card payment screen.
We operate
from within the United Kingdom, and we charge VAT on orders where appropriate.
We do not try to cheat the system by operating offshore, because we believe
that it is Biblically correct to pay taxes to the UK government where they
are due.
If,
by mistake, we have incorrectly priced an item, we will not be liable to supply
that item to you at the stated price, provided that we notify you before we
despatch the item to you.
In
those circumstances, we will notify the correct price to you so you can decide
whether or not you wish to order the item at that price. If you decide not
to order the item, we will give you a full refund on any amount already paid
for that item in accordance with our refund policy.
Shipping Charges
Please refer to the checkout screen
for shipping charges, which are calculated as you build up your order.
The shipping charges for international
orders are estimated, as we do not have information about the weight of every
item listed on our website. If we feel that the estimate is very inaccurate
for an order, we may contact you to discuss this.
If you feel that the estimated
shipping for an international order is too high, please contact us and we
will see if we can arrange a special shipping price based on the item(s) you
want to order.
Complaints
Please contact us via the details
on our contact page, and we will reply within three
days, normally the same day.
Unsolicited Emails
We guarantee that we will not
give or sell your email address to any third party. We may email customers
who have placed an order or joined our email list with information about new
products and special offers, but you have the option to remove yourself from
our email database at any time.
Statutory Rights
Contracts do not affect the your
statutory rights as a consumer.

Disclosures
christianbits' operating
company, Soft Approach Limited, has notified the Commissioner for Data Protection
as required by the Data Protection Act 1998 (notified Data Controller is Andy
Rigby) and will abide by the conditions of this Act and the Data Protection
Act 1984. However, unless required to do so by a legal authority, we will
not release or make available customer information to third party individuals
or organisations, excepting information required to obtain credit/charge card

Data Protection
We are a registered data user

If you have any queries about
our Privacy Statement you should contact us via the details on our contact

Ordering Online
If you are concerned about ordering
goods by credit or debit card over the internet, be reassured that online
ordering is now more secure than other methods of buying in those situations
where the cardholder is not present, such as ordering by telephone or even
handing your card to a waiter in a restaurant.
We use the services of one of
the largest and most respected card processing companies, WorldPay. WorldPay
started up in 1993, and was the first commercial bank-approved internet payment
gateway in the world.
When you type in your credit card
details, we will never see them. The screen where you enter them is a 'secure
server' run by WorldPay, where the usual credit card checks are performed.
When your transaction has been approved (which takes a few seconds), we simply
receive an email which tells us we can go ahead and process your order. The
money from your credit card is collected by WorldPay and then forwarded to
us later. We do have to pay a commission for this service, but we feel that
the added layer of security which it gives our customers is well worth it.
For more information about WorldPay,
visit their web site at http://www.worldpay.com
WorldPay
have recently started to use the MasterCard Secure Code and Verified by Visa
systems as an extra security question when you pay by card. If you have not
already done so, you will be asked to set up a password for card verification.
You will need to remember your password for any online purchases you make
in the future on our website or any others.
As
a result of these new security measures, customers may occasionally have a
problem with the password stage of the card payment procedure. If you are
directed to a blank page after you have entered your card details, or if you
DO NOT receive an email from WorldPay to confirm your payment has been made,
you will need to call us with your card details and we will be happy to complete
the payment manually.
It
would also be a good idea for you to contact your card company to let them
know about any payment problems, as they will then be able to log common problems
and improve their password systems.
We
apologise for any inconvenience this may cause - but the rules are laid down
by the credit card companies in the interests of your card security.
If you still have concerns about
ordering online, please feel free to place your order by telephone on 01428
653853 from within the UK or +44 1428 653853 from outside the UK.
More recently, we have also
introduced the option to pay by Paypal, the largest payment system in the
world. Once you have set up a Paypal account, you do not need to re-enter
your card details on every website you shop at.
